More this and that

Simple pleasure.  A bowl of strawberries, blueberries and some Reddi Whip.

We’re going to the movies tonight.  We usually don’t go out on a weeknight, but we have the opportunity to see Wicked before its official opening.  Although we did see a big-screen showing of The Wizard of Oz on a Wednesday night.  I’ve seen the Broadway musical twice, once when the show was in previews and again in 2014.  I’m excited to see the movie.

So it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but we are talking about New Year’s Eve.  We usually celebratewith a small group of friends.  Last year we went to a restaurant that threw a party.  It was not a success evening.  The previous year we had a very lovely evening at Drew’s house   That seems to be the pattern.  So it looks like Drew and I will be hosting again.

We have a very good next door neighbor.  His shrubs overhang our driveway.  He comes over to our side of the fence to trim the shrubs.  We don’t really know our neighbors, but I’m glad they’re taking care of the shrubs.

It’s disconcerting when you wake up at 3 AM because a car with a siren (police? ambulance?) drives down your street and stops in front of your neighbor’s house.  I don’t really know any of my neighbors, but it’s upsetting nonetheless.

Since we moved here there have been four emergencies serious enough to have been covered by the media  — a house fire, a dog attack, an armed robbery that resulted in a massive police response, and an arrest of someone poised to commit an armed robbery.

It’s no wonder I invested in the Ring cameras.

Speaking of which, the four footed visitors keep showing up.

It’s like he knew he was on camera, looked right at the lens.

Winter is coming … I think I’ll have to pound on my car before I turn on the engine, just in case any of the feline visitors are taking shelter in the engine compartment or wheel wells.

  1. You moved to an interesting neighborhood. New Year's will be here before you know it. It's not that far away. Of course now is the time to start the planning.

  2. It is very disconcerting to see emergency vehicles at the neighbor's house whether you know them or not. We don't want to see others suffer.
