Another this and that

Update on the wedding.  The invitations were mailed out last week.  It’s really going to happen. We’re working on some of the logistics now — transportation etc.

As for the bridal shower, we’re still waiting on a few RSVP’s but the party is coming together nicely.

As for my dress(es).  The backup dress has arrived.  It’s lovely and it fits perfectly.  If I don’t wear it for the shower I’ll have to find an occasion… As for the original dress, the one that I customized, the website says they cut the pattern and began to lay out the fabric … Fingers crossed that it arrives in time … but if not, I’m no longer stressing…

The dress I’m wearing to the wedding has to be altered, it’s way too long and needs to be hemmed.  I have to figure out when I should take it to the tailor.  But first I have to buy shoes …

And did I mention that the dresses are in a size I never expected to wear again?  The weight loss feels really good, and I know I’ll have the energy to dance at the wedding.

When we moved into this house last year, my next door neighbor frowned when I told her we have two cats.  But when I told her our cats are strictly indoor cats, she smiled.  She told me that many of our neighbors allow their cats outside and the cats get into her yard … I didn’t see many cats last year, but in the last few weeks we’ve had several feline visitors.  They’re all well fed and sassy, so definitely not strays.  Yesterday while I was having breakfast I heard a plaintive meow …I checked on Duchess and Shadow … the crying cat was sitting on my patio …but he left when I opened the back door. Maybe he was hoping one of mine would come out and play?

Now that Shadow and Duchess are getting along, I was thinking about adding another cat to the family … it Drew doesn’t want to be outnumbered.

We did a lot of yard work last weekend.  Had to pick up a bunch of pine cones — those trees behind our house have been fruitful.   This house has given us a few surprises, and I  can’t wait to see what else this garden might produce.

  1. Cats do have a way of finding the homes that are cat friendly! My neighbor frowns about my indoor only cats. Says "There's no such thing as a house cat," while not providing a litter box for his. "They're icky," says this man pushing 50 years old! Yes, they are. and they are part of owning a cat. His come to MY yard for their business, that's "icky".

  4. New York is big place. But I wonder if you had trouble finding a dress for the wedding.
When my sons got married. I kept running in to dress like under size 8. I haven't been that size since, eons.

    1. Not a lot of merchandise in the stores lately. The dress I bought for the wedding …it was on sale at a department store, but they only had it in two sizes (not my size) but I was able to order it from the manufacturer.

As for the shower …well, I hate shopping.

  5. Having a dress already in the closet makes everything easier, I'm sure.
