Suburban mentality

Why yes, I do own the street in front of my house!

Not really, of course.  But …

Most of the houses on this street have driveways that can accommodate more than one car.  Our driveway can fit four.  And people who have more cars than their driveway can accommodate tend to park in front of their own house.

It’s different on weekends, when many people have visitors, but generally speaking no one ever parks in front of our house.

(My next-door neighbor parks in the space where his property meets ours, but that’s different…)

This morning, when I came downstairs and looked out my kitchen window, I saw it.  A white car, parked directly in front of my house.  It wasn’t there when I went upstairs last night.

And of course I checked Ring, but my cameras are pointed at our driveway, not the street, and didn’t pick up the “invader” parking in front of our house.

I could go outside and move one of the cameras …

Today’s dose of cuteness (the the offending vehicle in the background).

  1. I get into such trouble when I visit my father and park not in front of his house. (Which only happens when others are also visiting. Not often, but sometimes.) Sigh.

  2. A few of the houses around mine have quite a few drivers living in them, so there is usually a car parked in front of my house. The only thing I have to worry about is making sure my sprinkler doesn't hit the cars when I water out front. I park in my driveway, or at night in the carport.
