More ramblings

I was never a Black Sabbath fan, but I was sad to hear Ozzy Osbourne passed away.

Sadder to hear about Malcolm Jamal Warner I loved him on the Cosby show.

Billy Joel is making news.  I haven’t seen the documentary yet (we DVR’d part one and will record part two on Friday) but I did catch his interview on Bill Maher’s podcast.  If you have an hour or so, it’s a great interview.  At the very end of the interview, Billy mentions that he was influenced by the lyrics of Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.  Hmmm…

Attitude makes a difference.  How you treat people makes a difference.  I was very discombobulated this morning, almost forgot that I had an appointment with one of my doctors.  I arrived 15 minutes late and apologized profusely.  I was told “no problem, just have a seat and we will be with you shortly.”

I stopped by the reception desk as I was leaving so that I could schedule my next appointment.  Usually there are several people working in the reception area, but today there was only one woman, she had to check patients in and check patients out.   Another patient arrived while I was in the middle of checking out.  She banged on the glass partition and announced “I’m here for my appointment.”  The receptionist replied “I’m with someone, I’ll be with you in a minute.”

And as I was leaving I heard the receptionist say “Your appointment was at 10:00,  it’s 10:30, I will had to check if the doctor can see you …”

I saw an interesting decoration on someone’s driveway.

It’s a circular driveway, there’s a matching statue at the other end of the driveway.

Saw an interesting car.

Lots of construction going on in the neighborhood.  A few houses are getting dormers. And a few new houses are being built.

The new construction includes basements … the original Levitt houses were built on slab foundations.  The one pictured above is going to be huge …you can tell they won’t have much of a back yard.  The lots here are small.

Lately I am seeing lots of bunnies when I walk in the neighborhood.  So cute!

And I’ve spotted another mockingbird.

  1. Attitude is so very important. And people working in public facing capacities definitely do work harder for those that show them courtesy. (I'm convinced that's how I managed to get my suitcase when I was stuck in Denver. I made sure to be very, very polite about the whole thing.)
