baseball nostalgia...

Still waxing nostalgic over baseball. there have been only 3 New York Yankee pitchers who threw a perfect game:  Don Larsen (in the 1956 World Series), David Wells (May 17, 1998) and David Cone (July 18, 1999).

I remember Wells' game, and Cone's the following year...

  1. Several years ago I saw a video of Don Larson's game on a TV channel (I wish I could remember which one). So many of the fans in the stands were men dressed like business people, complete with the felt hats many wore in those days. What amazed me was the relative lack of emotions at the end of the day - the fans just filed out politely, without trying to get on the field or tear things up. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  2. Perfect game--an amazing thing. But kinda boring for the spectators after a fashion...
