#skywatchfriday -- 70 Pine Street
70 Pine Street was once the tallest building in lower Manhattan. Built in 1931, it rivaled the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. Until recently it was the home of insurance giant AIG, but has now been converted to luxury apartments.
Even today, it towers over some of its neighbors.
It has a very interesting profile up top.
The detailing on the facade is beautiful.
And look at the entrance, there's a model of the building!

Very cool!!
ReplyDeleteThe facade detail really is beautiful. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live in a high rise in a big city. Such a different lifestyle!
