And still more ramblings

So you know I drive an older Prius-C.  A compact.  A hybrid that generally gets 40-50 MPG.  It’s got a 9.5 gallon gas tank, which I fill once or twice a month.   Considering gas is over $4/gallon … I love this car.

I came out of a store the other night, and there was a large SUV parked next to me.  The owner was loading groceries into his car.  He jokingly asked where the other half of my car was …was I  cruel to respond by bragging about my mileage?

Drew hates it when I talk about mileage.  He drives a Pacifica.

Long Island drivers may not be the worse in the world, but they’re certainly in the running.  I’ve stopped commenting on the craziness, but whenever we are in the car Drew feels the need to point out every idiot who thinks turn signals are optional, every loser weaving in and out of traffic, etc., every motorcycle riding between lanes, every lunatic who fails to stop at a stop sign … so our car rides are seldom quiet …

Knicks fever … game 3 in Monday at the Garden. I’m glad I don’t commute into the city anymore, it’s going to be chaos.  And if a certain occupant of the White House follows through, the chaos will increase …)

But the chaos known as the Belmont Stakes is in Saratoga tonight.  Belmont Park is undergoing renovations.  I won’t be watching the race, we’ll be at the Ducks game.  They’re playing the Staten Island Ferryhawks … another Battle of the Belt (as in, Belt Parkway — the highway that starts at the Verrazano Bridge and runs though Brooklyn and Queens to Long Island, the road Ferryhawk fans will take to come to our ballpark). Go Ducks!

Sigh … the Mets …
