More ramblings

It’s a little disconcerting when you walk through the neighborhood, see daffodils, forsythia and crabapple trees in bloom, but you’ve got to wear a parka, hat and gloves because it’s so cold … But warmer weather is coming. I think I’ll be heading to one of the parks this weekend for a longer walk.

I saw a cardinal while I was walking, but he flew away before I could take a picture. Ditto with the grackles who were hanging out in my backyard. I’ve seen robins in the neighborhood, but not in my yard. I’m disappointed.

I made another interesting dinner last night — oven fried eggplant Parmesan (made with  Passover gluten free matzoh meal), roasted asparagus and a baked potato.  First time I ever made eggplant Parmesan.  I think I’ll try it with gluten free panko next time.

Or maybe next time I have eggplant I’ll make ratatouille.  I haven’t made that in awhile.

I signed up to participate in another fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  I’ll post more details later, of course, but …this one sounded intriguing.  It’s all about posting on Facebook.  You post one photograph a day, every day, during the month of May.  It sounds a bit challenging but also a lot of fun.

Hopefully I’ll have a lot of photos from our trip to Florida.  We have friends who live outside of Tampa, haven’t seen them since December 2022.  We stayed with them just before our cruise.  This time we’ll be there for six days/five nights. I hope we go to Tarpon Springs,  there’s a really great Greek restaurant there.

Yes, this is the place that makes stuffed grape leaves with meat, just the way Drew’s mother did.

I’m looking forward to the trip.

  1. I have some vintage postcards with Tarpon Springs sponge divers. I didn't know it was the sponge capitol! I hope you get to the restaurant and the stuffed grape leaves are as good as Drew's mother made! Although, most things don't usually come up to mother standards!
