SATURDAY 9: HAPPY HOLIDAYS

1. As you can see, when Sam Winters was a little girl, she loved giving her annual wish list to Santa. If you could ask Santa for anything at all, right now, what would it be?

“Peace on Earth” might be too much to ask for, but a ceasefire in Gaza and bringing the hostages home sounds do-able.

2. Are you currently on the Naughty or Nice list? How did you get there?

I hope I’m on the nice list. 

3. Are you traveling this Christmas? If so, are you going by car, plane or train?

We’re not going anywhere.

4. Did you ship any gifts to friends and family this year? If yes, which one traveled the farthest?

No.

5. Did you buy yourself a gift this year? 

No.

6. Which do you prefer: candy canes or gingerbread?

Same as last year, candy canes.

7. Close your eyes and tell us the first carol that comes to mind.


Fathom Events sponsored a showing of White Christmas in the movie theater last week.  It was wonderful to see this movie the way it was intended.  

8. What's your favorite winter beverage?


Hot chocolate with mini marshmallows.


9. Share a memory from last Christmas.

On Christmas Eve a group of us went to The Melting Pot.  We went out for Chinese food Christmas Day,

That seems to be the plan for this year as well.  Our Hanukkah party will be on New Year’s Eve.

    Yes to the Chinese food. I make my own Spring rolls every year. Love them. Chanukah Sameach!

    Nice Christmas memory. Alas, my memory of last year involves being sick. Sigh. (Planning on being well this year.)

Ultimate Blog Party!!!!

thanks to suzanne , I decided to join the party. I got into blogging last year because of Suzanne. I've known her on message boards for awhile, but I've gotten to know her much better since entering the blogosphere. I've also met several others whose blogs I am starting to love, and look forward to meeting even more bloggers now that I've joined the party. So I guess that means I have to introduce myself. I am a single mom from Long Island. My older daughter, Jen, is a college freshman, going to school in New England. Younger daughter, Becca, is a high school junior. I am also an attorney with an insurance company, with offices in Jersey City, NJ, a really "wonderful" commute. I sit on the board of trustees at my synagogue (which means I do a lot of volunteer work there!), and I am active in various fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, currently planning for this year's Relay for Life. Funny you should mention Eydie.  She’s sort of a relative.  My late mother-in-law always said that she and Eydie were cousins.  Eydie was a Sephardic Jew, as was my mother-in-law, so I have no reason to doubt the connection,  so I guess you can say my kids are related to Eydie,   Eydie and Neil Sedaka were cousins, but I’m not sure if Neil was related to my moth...
