Music Monday, part 2
So on Thursday we ventured out to
To see
We saw their show in 2012 and I was amazed.
It’s not just a concert, seeing TSO is an experience!
But first you have to get there …
The venue is easy to get to … right off the Cross Island Parkway, on the border of the borough of Queens and Nassau County, next door to Belmont Park. A truly remarkable, modern arena. With a huge parking problem …
Which becomes an issue if you have to park in Emerald Parking, north of the racetrack, for an event at the arena, south of the track. We took a shuttle bus from the parking lot, but walked back to the car after the show — it’s a 20 minute walk.
And since it was so cold, rather than wait outside for the doors to open, we opted to grab a bite to eat in Belmont Hall.
The show was sponsored by Q 104, which is NYC’s classic rock station. A portion of the proceeds were donated to God’s Love We Deliver.
TSO doesn’t just play music, they perform rock operas, they tell stories and provide spectacle.
A few photos
I took a bit of video, just a few snippets.

Oh, how fun. So glad you got to go, even with the parking issues.
ReplyDeleteAwesome images. We saw TSO in Tulsa a couple of years ago. The concert was amazing and we are looking forward to going again. Thanks for sharing them this year.
ReplyDeleteYou captured some fabulous memories! It must've been awesome to see this band in concert. They are quite amazing! Have a boogietastic week and festive holiday, Robin! xo
ReplyDeleteI remember TSO announcing a concert years ago in our area and then it being cancelled. It would have been amazing, but all of that tech comes at a price - ticket price, that is. Our area is left out of so many concert tours - it's sad, in a way but I suspect concert promoters feel they can't make money coming here - not enough of an audience. Sigh....
