Black eye

Stereotype (partially) completed.  After my Christmas Eve misadventure, we decided skip the movie, sleep in, then have a late lunch at the Chinese restaurant. Jimmy Stewart can wait for next Christmas to find Clarence …

So I’ve got a lovely gash over my right eye.  The stitches come out on Monday.  Hopefully the bruises fade soon, I don’t want to start my new job with a black eye. Concealer is my friend.

Lovely, isn’t it?

It was a scary situation.  I really didn’t expect to spend Christmas in the ER. Follow up with my doctor is being scheduled.

My kids were panicked until they heard my voice and knew I was ok.

My sister thinks I need to start going to the gym again.  Aerobic exercise is wonderful, of course, but she thinks I need to use the weight lifting machines to build more muscle.  She’s nervous about me falling.

So I am recovering from my misadventure and preparing to hunker down— we are expecting another storm tomorrow night. (The snow blower is gassed up and ready for action.) Time to move on to the next adventure…

  1. I don't know, but to me it would seem falling and falling because of fainting would have two different causes. My mother fell a lot. She had terrible bunions, and one surgery that made it worse. I liked going to the gym, but my insurance is changing, and the new doesn't cover any but one not in my area. When you wrote about your fall I had not idea it was as serious as your photo shows! Take care.

  2. Yikes. I'm sorry. I hope you find a cause and heal up quickly.
