Music Monday

Another “your choice” week.

How about new music from icons of the 60’s and 70’s?

Let’s start with Jimmy Buffett’s posthumous hit, “Bubbles Up”.

The Rolling Stones released a new song in 2023, it’s called “Angry”.

The surviving Beatles (with some  help from AI) released “Now and Then”.

And then Billy Joel …

The AI effects in the video blew me away…

A note about the AI effects … the Beatles used it to isolate John’s vocals on an old demo.  Billy Joel had a young man play the piano then superimposed his own face onto the image of the younger man.

  1. I love the "Now and Then" music video! It's quite touching. The song is really nice, too. I liked your other selections as well. Thanks for joining the party, Robin. Have a boogietastic week! ;)

  4. This is a positive way to use AI. It's bittersweet listening and watching the Beatles video. How young is Mick Jagger?

  5. Loved your set. Angry was new to me - neither my husband or I even knew the Stones had released an album last year. Re Billy Joel, I saw a TV interview with him over the weekend. The young man whose body the AI superimposed Billy Joel at various ages onto was the co-writer of the song. And Joel, who talked about how hard performing is for him (he said he is super self conscious in those settings), told the interviewer he loved the experience of making this video because he was one step removed, so to speak.
