Music Monday
The Guess Who were a rock band from Winnipeg, Canada, popular in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Most of their hit songs were written by guitarist Randy Bachman (who later founded Bachman-Turner Overdrive) and lead singer Burton Cummings.
Cummings is currently touring, and we saw him perform at Westbury Music Fair Saturday night.
While you’re allowed to take photos during the performance, you’re not permitted to make audio or video recordings. That’s not a bad thing, it forces you to be more present in the moment …
Besides, you can’t post a lot of fan video of concerts on YouTube these days, they’re really concerned about copyrighted material.
But you can find a lot of video there, so let’s play some of Cummings’ big hits.

He's holding his flute. Did he play "Undun"?
ReplyDeleteYES!
DeleteThe Guess Who were awesome back in the day but age is rarely kind to the hard life of a touring rocker. I still love No Time!
ReplyDeleteVery cool that you got to see.
ReplyDeleteFabulous oldies band! What a great way to start the week, my dear!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh, that would have been such a great concert. I like so many of their songs - Undun, No Sugar Tonight, and Share the Land are probably my favorites of their songbook. And of course, Burton Cummings and Stand Tall, which you included. Nice set!
ReplyDeleteHe sang all of those songs!
