This and that

 The setting for our Friendsgiving

We feasted on turkey with stuffing and gravy, ham (yes, it turned out ok) mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce …

The house was filled with light and laughter and love.

Two cats hid upstairs most of the evening.  Eventually Shadow came down to timidly socialize a bit. Duchess had no interest,  Both reclaimed the living room after everyone left.

And Shadow was fascinated by the flowers, thought they were some sort of snack.

We still get printed newspapers delivered to the house.  I read the news on my iPad, but Drew likes to actually hold the paper when he reads it.  When I went outside Saturday morning to get the papers, a squirrel was sitting on the rock where my pumpkins are on display.

He ran away when he saw me.  But I fear those pumpkins might become a snack for the bushy-tailed ones.

Later, when I returned home after running an errand … as my car pulled into the driveway …

Yeah, Songbird is now feared by the bushy-tailed ones …

The Christmas lights are starting to go up all around the neighborhood.  I’m going to have to take another walk.

Yeah, Thanksgiving is over, and it’s time to move on to the rest of the holiday season.

  2. Of course the cats didn't want to visit. Funny. Do they like turkey? Or ham? I wonder if your neighborhood goes all out with Christmas lights or are they more subdued? You'll have to keep us posted.
