Delivery mishaps

So I felt very, very lazy Saturday.  The weather was bitterly cold and snowy and I really didn’t want to  go out.  I live about a mile or so from the supermarket but I decided to spend the extra money to have my groceries delivered.  Opened up the app, placed my order.  A few hours later a truck pulled up, the driver handed me several bags …

I emptied the bags quickly — Shadow likes to “investigate “ grocery purchases — and immediately realized I was missing two items.  I had ordered two bags of frozen vegetables.  The vegetables were the only frozen foods I ordered. I checked my receipt …yes, I paid for those vegetables.

So I opened up the app and notified the store about the missing items.  Four days later I’m still waiting to hear from the store.

I was doing a little on line shopping Sunday.  I needed Command hooks.  I ordered some from an online store.  Shipping was free, but I paid an extra $3 to have the product delivered to me Monday morning.

Monday morning I got an email from the store.  My item would ship, but it would be late, so they were refunding the $3 I paid for shipping,

Then the product was delivered Monday morning.

And then the product was delivered Tuesday morning.

Customer service told me they did not have a record of the double shipment and that I should just keep the second set of hooks.

  1. Such things happen. I hope they straighten our your frozen vegetables. At least you got the hooks even if the order got doubled.

  2. Is the Universe trying to send you some kind of strange message with these two events? Doesn't surprise me that you were told to keep the second set of hooks - it probably would have cost them more to have you return it and them having to restock them.

  3. This happened to me once with the Readers Digest. They told me just keep the second set of books.
