Unbeknown to me, September is National Happy Cat month. You don’t have a cat or any animal to share some songs about these adorable four-legged creatures!

Before I play my songs …

You all know my dear friend Duchess



And my other sweet girl, Moon Shadow.  We call her Shadow.




Though I’ll hazard a guess I’m not the only crazy cat lady hopping on this theme today …

First let’s play the song that inspired Shadow’s name …by (of course) Cat Stevens.

Yeah, one of my favorite musicals.  I actually named a cat Mr. Mistoffeles.  He was quiet, he was small, he was black …


No, I don’t like cats at all… just because this hangs in the front hall …

    The Artistocrats is a cute movie. I remember getting this for the children when they were small. I love those old Disney classics! I enjoyed your music picks. "Alley Cat" is one I wouldn't have thought of but Tom Jones' song instantly came to mind. You and Alana are thinking a like using the Broadway show Cats for inspiration. Boogietastic job!     Two great minds! I shared Aristocats, too! Duchess and Shadow are beautiful! And no, you're not the only crazy cat lady - we currently have 4 cats that allow us to live with them (and they keep our 4 dogs in check...heh!) Loved all your song choices!

    Great post! I hadn't even thought of Tom Jones or the Allesy Cat dance that must have been performed at every wedding for years. Of course, I knew you would pick something from Cats. I don't own any cats but my husband owned cats as a child, my sister in law had one until she moved somewhere that didn't allow cats, my son has two, my late best friend had two, at least two other cousins have cats, and an aunt I loved dearly had two. Another dear friend does cat (and dog) rescue. Is there a pattern here? LOL. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
