Music Monday

Music Monday and it’s a “you pick” week.

It was 1976, the Bicentennial year, and I was 16 years old.  It was the year of the Montreal Olympics, the year Jimmy Carter was elected President, the year Chairman Mao died.  Hank Aaron hit his 755th home run. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest won the Oscar for Best Picture. Everyone was talking about Rocky. Son of Sam began his killing spree.

And here are some of the songs playing on the radio:

  2. Great set of music and how diverse! I feel I don't hear that today plus no originality for the songs that make it big. A lot of repetition

  3. 1976 was a great music year and you picked some of the best. I had such fun singing along with I Write the Songs. I mentally danced along with You Should Be Dancing. And Rhiannon is one of my all time favorite songs.

  4. Flashback through music! I love your collection this week, especially "Silly Love Song". That was such a favorite of mine in the day and still is. KC & the Sunshine Band was/is a great group that gets you to your feet every time. Thanks for joining the 4M party, Robin. Have a boogietastic week, m'dear! xo ~CAAC
