This and that

Shadow was excited, her tail was whipping around…

Want to see the view from our window that got Shadow so excited?

I know what it sounds like when doves cry …

It was cloudy and a bit cool when I took my walk the other day.   I walked to the pool — took exactly 8 minutes.   The poor lifeguard was in sweatpants and a hoodie.  But surprisingly there were two kids in the pool.  Go figure.

Seen on that walk.

The last day of public school was Friday.  I think the graduation signs will come down soon.

The construction site on my street …the old house is completely gone.

So, a bit more about the grill misadventure.  Drew always bought appliances at Sears. There was a huge Sears store located in Hicksville.   He’d also buy a service contract for each appliance.  As you may know, Sears went bankrupt a few years ago.  They closed all the stores, but reinvented themselves as Sears.com, and also continued to provide repairs pursuant to their many service contracts.

Last summer Drew had an issue with the service contracts.  He thought it was a fluke, a rare occurrence resulting from the conversion from brick and mortar to exclusively on line.  I was more skeptical.

They no longer employ delivery people or service staff.  They use contracts with local providers.

And if you Google “Sears” you’ll see a host of customers complaining about the same thing that happened  to us.

But now we have a grill.  And I am satisfied.
