Yeah, New York is in first place … it’s only April but thoughts of a Subway Series are starting …
And on the home front ….
It’s bird feeder success….sort of …
I told you I saw a cardinal in the tree near the feeder.
Well, now I’ve seen two crows enjoying the offerings. The bird feeder is small, so they had to take turns — one sat on the fence while the other one ate.
I’m wondering who else will show up. I’ve seen doves on the overhead wires, and I’ve seen sparrows and other small birds on the front lawn. And robins, of course. The Merlin app picked up the sound of blue jays, but I haven’t actually seen any…yet.
Not happy about the weather. It’s been cold and rainy.
I’m really looking forward to this:
But at least the rain is good for the grass. The front lawn is starting to look a bit greener. But we may have to get some grass seed — there are patches where the grass isn’t growing.
And something is growing in the back yard, not sure what but it looks interesting.
The back yard is relatively small. When the house was expanded, the then-owners built out, not up, so they reduced the size of the yard. There’s a storage shed in one corner of the yard. And then there’s the above-ground pool, which is not in usable condition but our landlord doesn’t want to spend the money to remove it. But we have a nice patio, so when the warm weather finally arrives, we’ll be able to invite friends over for barbecues.
Here’s the pati.
You can sort of see the shed and pool to the left. The bird feeder is near the fence, under the neighbor’s tree. Where the bird is flying from …
You can see the pool and shed in this photo.
See what I mean?
I’ll have to take better photos of the yard when the weather gets nicer.
April 25th... I'd better get off my duff. That's the twin nephews' birthday, and I have no idea what I'm going to get them. Sigh.
