#skywatchfriday — a walk in my neighborhood
It’s called Levittown Parkway, and it connects Newbridge Road in Levittown to Old Country Road in Hicksville, about a mile and a half.
There’s a strip mall with a supermarket at Newbridge Road. Up by Old Country Road, on the east side of the parkway you’ll find a strip mall sandwiched between the firehouse and the community center/pool and the elementary school nearby. On the west side you’ll find an actual, unnamed park.
The rest of the road lives up to its name — parkway — with trees and grass, and fences separating public property from peoples’ back yards.
It’s a great place to take a walk.
Let’s start by walking along the roadway.
And then there’s the park itself. Just a walkway past back yards, but nice.
This house has a gate so they can walk from their yard into the park. They’re not alone, a lot of houses in the park and in the parkway have back gates.
It really is a lovely place to walk.
Beautiful day for a walk. If I lived along that parkway, I would definitely install a back gate!
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day and you got lots of great blue skies
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I would want to have my back yard that close to a walking trail but if I did, I would definitely want a gate. You had a beautiful day for a walk.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great place to walk. Beautiful photos!!
ReplyDeleteLovely captures of the sights alongside your walk.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a nice walk.
ReplyDeleteA perfect length for a walk, and flat! Very pretty one too. My park backs up to houses too, and some have chain link, so you can see right into the yards and houses with open windows. It looks like the park is well maintained.
ReplyDeleteGreat skies.
ReplyDeleteLovely day for a walk.
