1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?

I was elected to serve on the board of trustees at my synagogue and appointed to chair several committees. Jen graduated from high school and went off to college. Becca turned 16 and got her learner's permit.



2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No, but I'm stuill trying
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not really close, but I felt great sadness. My parents have very close friends, they've known each other since I was in 3rd grade. their son was in my third grade class. You couldn't call us friends, we barely spoke to each other, but he died of brain cancer a few months ago, and I was devastated.

5. What countries did you visit?
None, unless you count the pavillions in EPCOT's world showcase.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
tranquility in my life, less stress. materially, I want a new car -- not going to happen -- a new laptop (maybe) and a new iPod, maybe the itouch (possible)
7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
the day my daughter Jen graduated from high school. the day she started college. Becca's sweet 16 party.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
the work I've done for the synagogue.
9. What was your biggest failure?
a case i worked on but wasn't able to bring to closure.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
not this year, thank G-d.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
ipod nano.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
my kids, of course.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
my sisters and I aren't getting along at all and I'm tired of being baited by them.
14. Where did most of your money go?
I've got 2 teenagers, need you ask?.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The Election. my trips to Disney. My kids.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
"apple bottom jeans...boots with the fur...the whole club was looking at her..." so overplayed...and overused by every hip hop comeptition team in every venue we went to.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? not sure.
b) thinner or fatter? beating myself up because I gained back some of the weight I lost in 2007.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
time with the kidlets.

fighting with the kidlets.

friend's house Christmas Eve, home relaxing Christmas Day

still looking for that mensch

Biggest Loser, American Idol, ER, Law & Order, Survivor, Countdown with Keith Olberman
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Not hate, but increasingly annoyed with someone.

Read quite a few good ones, but I'd have to agree with Suzanne about Wild Fire by Nelson de Mille was the best.

Off Kilter
26. What did you want and get?
for Jen to get into a college she'd actually like.

a winning lottery ticket

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I turned 48, had a fight with my kids, and spent the whole day alone, shopping for myself.

meeting Mr. Right

long silky hair (I deserve it after chemo in 2005), conservative business casual

focusing on the long term
