One...My husband grew up in southern Putnam County. One of his neighbors when they first moved was a chicken farmer. Even when I met him in 1970 he still lived on a cul de sac off of a dirt road. Now, everything is fully developed. Several years ago, the deer showed up. Then came the turkeys. The pressure of development may be why these creatures became common in his Mom's backyard (she owned the house until last summer) and, perhaps, now yours.
